Functional Neurology tests various parts of the brain to see how they interact with each other. In other words, it is the study of the inter-relationships of an individual's neuronal systems within the context of their wider health.

Using anatomical and embryological relationships the functional neurologist diagnoses dysfunctions within the systems and uses those relationships to effect change within the neuraxis.

Electro-Acupuncture is the application of electrical current to the acupuncture needles to augment the effect of the treatment. In the past two decades, researchers have proven that electro-acupuncture can target certain structures of the brain, release specific opioids in the body, and increase blood circulation to tissues of the human body.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, hair-like needles into specific points in the body to communicate with the Nervous System and Endocrine System. It is estimated that you can fit approximately 10 acupuncture needles inside of a hypodermic needle. Acupuncture is not painful, but instead stimulates various nerve fibers and sensory receptors along pathways that reach your brain. This connection is important to help achieve a state of health and a sense of well-being.

Acupuncture can be viewed as Neural Rehabilitation of your nervous system. Therefore, it may take a course of treatments to reach your desired treatment goals. During the medical evaluation, your medical provider will explain the entire treatment process to you making it

easy to understand and eliminating any concerns that may arise during the acupuncture procedure.

Tui Na

The word Tui-Na in Chinese means to physically “push or grasp” and refers to a complimentary therapy used in conjunction with acupuncture to help rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries. When implementing Tui-Na, an herbal ointment or herbal liniment is applied to the area of injury to promote blood circulation and help speed up the healing process. Tui-Na also utilizes joint mobilization and various tissue stretching techniques to restore strength and flexibility in tendons and ligaments.

Auricular Medicine

Auricular medicine, or “ear acupuncture” uses the entire ear as a microsystem to treat mental, emotional, or physical conditions. The ear is our ONLY body part comprised of the 3 embryonic tissues that make up the human body. These embryonic tissues of the auricle are enriched with nerves allowing us to use ear acupuncture as a means to communicate with the urinary, gastrointestinal, respiratory, endocrine, and musculoskeletal systems.
